Autumn and winter season at Swansea Grand Theatre & Brangwyn Hall

Swansea Grand Theatre and the Brangwyn Hall’s autumn winter season 2024 is bursting with colour to chase away those dark evenings. Whether you’re mad for musicals, craving comedy, pining for plays or longing for lively music, we’ve got it all.


(Sister Act/Swansea Grand Theatre)

The divine musical comedy, Sister Act, is back. Starring Coronation Street and theatre legend, Wendi Peters, as Mother Superior and West End star, Landi Oshinowo, as Deloris and is on from 23 to 28 Sept. Don’t miss this joyful family musical adaptation of Floella Benjamin’s award-winning book, Coming to England, telling Floella’s own story of emigrating as a child (13-15 Sept).


If you’re hooked on horror, then Shock Horror will fit the bill. An eerie old cinema was Herbet’s playground and prison, but what lurked in the Metropol’s darkness? Come and find out from 17 to 21 Sept.


There are some roarsome shows for our younger audiences: Dinosaur World Live (1 & 2 Oct), Room on the Broom (4 & 5 Nov) and The Very Hungry Caterpillar munches his way onto the stage on 20 & 21 Nov.

There’s an amazing myriad of music on offer, including the UK’s biggest country duo, The Shires (7 Sept), the unbeatable Bootleg Beatles (30 Sept), and The Stylistics on 8 Nov.


For your funny bones, there’s Ed Byrne on 9 Oct and Jimeoin on 26 Oct. The legendary Su Pollard will definitely put a smile in Still Fully Charged on 16 Oct.


The Grand is known for its outstanding pantos and this year is no exception. Jack and the Beanstalk has a stellar line up, including Radio 2’s Scott Mills, A1’s Mark Read, Swansea favourite, Kev Johns, and the hilarious Matt Edwards and is sponsored by First Cymru.


Our Arts Wing is home to Fluellen Theatre’s Lunchtime Theatre on the last Saturday of every month. Other plays on offer include The Wild Tennant, a visceral play about a coercive, violent relationship (14 Sept) and Mumfighter, a brand new play from Grand


Ambition about a mum, her disabled child and the fight of her life from 15 to 25 Oct. There’s also comedy from Colin Hoult (1 Nov) and Mr Sleepybum, a multi-award-nominated kids show on 13 Nov.


(BBC NOW - Stephen Hough plays Brahms/Brangwyn Hall)

If you want marvellous music with a beautiful backdrop, then the Brangwyn Hall is the perfect place. BBC NOW launches its brand new 2024/25 season with Stephen Hough plays Brahms on 3 Oct.


Enjoy an evening of stripped back music and chat with ABC’s Martin Fry’s on 23 Oct. If you’re a Queen fan, the Symphonix Queen is for you, featuring a 30-piece orchestra and a rock band on 6 Sept and Nashville at Heart (24 Nov) will fill your cowboy boots with all your favourite modern country hits.


December is packed full of festive favourites. Buble by Candlelight will light up your life on 10 Dec and G4 will make a welcome return on 22 Dec. Mumbles A Cappella will perform some of the seasons best loved classics on 21 Dec.


The Brangwyn Hall also hosts bi-monthly tea dances and a variety of events, including vintage and wedding fairs and JR Events puts on a plethora of dazzling themed dinners and more.
