Family events this Easter in the Vale of Glamorgan
Easter's coming up and there's lots going on in the Vale, with plenty of fun activities and events to get involved in.
With the Easter holidays just around the corner, now is the time to start thinking ahead to keeping the kids busy during the holidays. The Vale offers acres of green spaces for them to burn off some steam, and visitthevale.com have organised lots of events around the county to keep the little ones happy.
8 April
Barry Easter Egg Hunt
Barry Town/Cadoxton/West End
Dozens of venues across town are taking part to create a giant Easter egg hunt, so grab the kids, put on their cutest Easter costumes and follow the map to bag some treats. Each online ticket gives you access to the map of venues on the trail, simply hop along to each venue to get a piece of candy. Watch out for the Easter Bunny as you make your way around town and snap a pic at our selfie stages for our photo competition.

Easter at Fonmon Castle
Fonmon Castle
When is a joust so much more than just a joust! When it is at Fonmon Castle. Visit 8 -10 April for the annual Fonmon Castle Joust, combat displays, archery, owls and a magician, but also get complete access to the rest of park which includes the dinosaurs! Barry Island Bunny Run
Barry Island
Join Calon Hearts for their first ever Barry Island Easter Bunny Run. The Bunny Run is a 2K Fun Run for all the family, with a picturesque route along the Barry Island Prom and Beach. All proceeds will go directly to the charity for Heart Screening and Defibrillators. The fun will begin at 10am with registration and a warm up on the prom, with the Run starting at 11am. Easter Egg Hunt
South Wales Aviation Museum
From 10am - 4pm this Easter there will be lots of fun for the little ones as they search the South Wales Aviation Museum, on the hunt for those chocolate eggs. With an egg-citing prize waiting for them at Hanger 872.

Penarth Easter Bunny Shop Hop
Penarth This event involves participants visiting different shops and stores throughout the town to collect chocolate treats that are given out at the end of the shop hop. This activity not only allows people to discover new shops and businesses but also promotes community engagement by encouraging people to interact with local shop owners. Purchase your map online and collect from Willmore's 1938 on the Clifftops, or purchase using cash. Follow the trail map through Penarth town to find clues to help you complete the secret phrase. Easter at Forage Farm Shop & Kitchen

See the lambs, reared at Penllyn Estate Farm, who will be penned on the lawn from Friday 7th through to Monday 10th for you to get close and say hello! Decorative cows, sheep and pigs will also be on display courtesy of Cows on Tour providing the opportunity to “milk” a Fresian and guess which seed matches the crop! The Easter Egg Trail will be available for the duration of Easter weekend Friday 7th to Monday 9th, with prizes to collect. They're thrilled to be welcoming Animal Cwtch to the Easter Experience for you and your little one’s to enjoy. They’ll be accompanied by giant rabbits, guinea-pigs, hedgehogs, mice, snakes, reptiles and more!

Easter Adventures
Dyffryn Gardens, St Nicholas
Visit Dyffryn Gardens at Easter to take part in ten activities. Whether you dress up like a baby animal, put your nose to the test to guess the spring smells, or challenge each other to some Easter games, there will be plenty of fun to be had. Each trail pack contains an activity sheet and pencil to help you complete the activities and claim your chocolate reward, you can choose from either a chocolate egg or a vegan and Free From chocolate egg. You don't need to book your Easter visit this year. Tickets are £3 per trail and normal admission also applies.

Teddy Bear Time/Be a Farmer For the Day/A&S Animal Encounters/The Big Easter Event!

They will be running Teddy Bear Time during the Easter holidays, and this time children can choose the soft toy they'd like to make. Be a Farmer activity for 8 - 12 year olds is running twice during the Easter Holidays but one event is already sold out. They are thrilled to be welcoming A&S Animal Encounters to the Farm to lead an animal experience like no other. As well as the chance to see the animals, enjoy the woodland, and play in the park, there will be a chocolate prize for all children who complete the Easter trail, free face painting, free tractor rides and lawn games for all to enjoy!
