Free days out for Families at Chapter this half term
Sharing free workshops, films, packed lunches, and exhibitions, Chapter is helping families with a week of family fun.
From 20-24 February inclusive, Chapter, in Canton, is sharing a week of free arts activity in the shape of family films, arts and crafts workshops and exhibitions, alongside also offering a free packed lunch for children to replace what would’ve been received during term-time. This half-term activity is offered by Chapter to support families throughout the ongoing cost-of-living crisis so they can spend time together, enjoy fun creative activities, and stay full and happy in the holidays.
Each day will start off with a free drop in arts and crafts workshop, perfect for all young creatives and crafty-curious kids, from 10am-12 noon, offered on a first-come-first served basis and lasting around 15-20 minutes each.
Chapter already provides a free family film every Saturday morning, but during half term, this offer is extended, so that families get a chance to see great releases from the past few years in the comfortable and welcoming setting of the cinema.
Alongside a collection of free films, Chapter present their new releases of affordable cinema, including Marcel the Shell with Shoes on (PG), featuring the beloved mollusc Marcel from the web series of the same name making his big-screen debut in this big-hearted animation.
From Monday to Friday, 12 noon-2pm, free packed lunches for all children will be on offer, with a range of meat, vegetarian and vegan lunches to suit all appetites. The kitchen can also cater for specific dietary requirements on request.
Perfect for green-fingered people of all ages, the Canton Community Gardeners are back at Chapter on Saturday 25 February for Seed Swap Saturday to meet the community and swap seeds with little and big gardeners alike.
Chapter’s exhibitions are free entry, with no need to book. On display for this half term is The Infinity Card, the new exhibition by Leo Robinson that presents oracles, musical scores and objects that explore a possible future, and Seo Hye Lee: [sound of subtitles] as part of the Art in the Bar programme, which looks at the history and visuals of subtitles.
