Organised by Penarth Town Council, the Summer Festival and Derby is free for all.

Since its inception in the 1960s, the Penarth Summer Festival has become a highly anticipated annual tradition, taking on various forms throughout the years. With the addition of the Downhill Derby in 2010, the festival has consistently been the highlight of the summer for both residents and visitors alike.

Prepare to be entertained by an impressive lineup of performers, including the sensational Penarth Operatic and Dramatic Society, Stonehouse, Wonderbrass, and Big Mac’s Wholly soul Band. The pulse-pounding action of the Downhill Derby will take centre stage, providing adrenaline-fueled excitement for participants and onlookers. There will also be an array of community stalls and fairground rides.

Penarth Town Mayor, Cllr Gwenda Roberts said:

"We are all looking forward to this year's Summer Festival and its exciting Downhill Derby! There will be so much for children and people of all ages to enjoy.”
