You can now get married at Techniquest Cardiff

For a wedding with a difference, Techniquest is a truly unique space your guests will love to explore.

Set on the sparkling waterfront of Cardiff Bay, thanks to a recent £5.7 million extension Techniquest has now opened its doors for couples wanting a fun and playful wedding. Not only will your guests love interacting with over 100 amazing hands-on exhibits, imagine how great your photos will be. Catch the mother of the bride in a hurricane, the best man sliding down the massive tube slide or the bridesmaids playing the giant keyboard.

If you’re looking for a venue that’s as unique as you are, then this could be the perfect spot to tie the knot. With dozens of interactive exhibits spread across two floors, it’s ideal for guests to spend their time between the ceremony and the reception. With the newer exhibits on offer as part of the Science Capital extension, it’s not only the children at the wedding who’ll be having the time of their lives. And if you’re looking for that extra something your guests will never forget, you can even arrange to add some live science demos to the proceedings.

Access from the M4 is very straightforward and there are several car-parks nearby, as well as a train station a few minutes away. You can celebrate the whole of your big day at the venue, from the ceremony right through to the speeches and beyond: it is a fabulously memorable place to get married in.

Techniquest holds a licence to allow the marriage celebration itself to take place at the venue and then works with a selection of specialist third-party suppliers to deliver all of the reception elements. With up to 200 guests there's lots of scope for enjoying the whole space in comfort with plenty of time to get hands-on with all of the fun exhibits.

Creative photographers can let their imaginations run wild - along with all of the different exhibits to capture wedding guests on, for the couple there are some genuinely unique options to choose from, such as: outside next to the silver Planetarium globe, on the waterside exterior of the original building, gazing into the infinity mirror, finding your honeymoon destination on the huge globe or testing out the Earthquake simulator in the Environment Zone. There’s also an impressively large wooden staircase that’s perfect for gathering a crowd together for a group shot.
