Sleeping Beauty

Swansea Grand Theatre

Their first time in the UK, a ballet company from Moldova with dancers from across Europe including Ukraine, are coming to Swansea Grand Theatre. Stunning choreography, sumptuous costumes and wonderful sets that form the fantasy world in which the Lilac Fairy struggles against the evil Carabosse. There are no scores more successful in supporting the full range of ballet than those by Tchaikovsky. Highlights include the Famous ‘Rose Adagio’ when Princess Aurora is introduced to four princes.

WWT Christmas Fair

Llanelli Wetland Centre

This is the first Christmas Fair at Llanelli Wetland Centre and they need your support to raise essential funds for their conservation work. There’ll be plenty of handmade local crafts, unique gifts from indie sellers and seasonal decorations to help you deck the halls. Expect warming treats, exciting raffle prizes and bags of festive cheer! It’s a two-day indoor event with breathtaking wintry views to get you in the mood for Christmas. Make sure you venture out for a refreshing walk to experience the sights and sounds of the wetland centre in winter.

Swansea Waterfront Winterland

Christmas just wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Swansea Bay and you’ll be pleased to hear this year all your festive favourites are back. The return of the covered ice rink means you can skate, whatever the weather and don’t miss the 120m Ice Walk. Kids of all ages will love the funfair attractions. The lovely Alpine Village has had a revamp and will be bigger than ever before with plenty of warming treats on offer.

Santa Saves Christmas

Jack's beanstalk won't grow, Cinderella's glass slipper is broken and there's no magic in the Fairy Godmother's wand. It looks as though Christmas might have to be cancelled! Join Jack, Dasher the Reindeer and Pompom the Penguin for this festive, musical, interactive adventure, as they meet Father Christmas and help Santa Save Christmas! A family show suitable for 2-7 year olds, where every child gets a specially wrapped present from Santa himself.

The Snowman

Ffwrnes Llanelli

The classic animated film of The Snowman, accompanied by The Welsh Film orchestra arrives at The Ffwrnes Theatre. Narrated by Welsh international baritone and personality Mark Llewellyn Evans, this event is the perfect way to get into the festive spirit. With a running time of approximately 70 minutes, this family event will feature a packed programme of Christmas music, Christmas sing-a-longs, a visit from Santa and not forgetting the classic, ‘Walking in the Air’, sung by our amazing young chorister.

 

14 - 17 Dec

Aladdin

The Dylan Thomas Theatre

One of the most popular pantos of all time, oh yes it is! With everything you could wish for from a fun family show. Aladdin fights the evil Abanazar, woos the princess and tries to please his demanding mother, the effervescent Widow Twanky.

Expect to hear timeless classics such as When A Child is Born, Silent Night and All I Want For Christmas, as well as delightful medleys to evoke the Christmas spirit, all delivered in an idyllic setting.

National Waterfront Museum
