Win an online course to learn Ukrainian at Cardiff University this summer
Join an online intensive course at Cardiff University to learn a new language in just two weeks.
Continuing and Professional Education (CPE) at Cardiff Univesity has provided a summer language programme to adult learners for many years.
This year they are offering the choice of French, Italian, Spanish and, for the first time, Ukrainian.
This course is aimed at those hosting Ukrainian families and those with an interest in the language and culture of Ukraine.
The intensive class will run on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays for two weeks from 12 June.
The online classes will take place at 18:00 to 20:00 and are designed to be an introduction to the language. Expect an interactive, challenging yet supportive online class.
The course will be taught by Dr Maryna Calder who is originally from Ukraine. Maryna commented:
“The aim of the course is to introduce complete beginners to Ukrainian language and some aspects of Ukrainian culture: learning the alphabet and everyday vocabulary, acquiring basic grammar knowledge and developing communication skills for basic situations. Ukrainian is an exciting language to learn which will open doors to better understanding of Ukrainian people living in the UK, their culture and traditions.”
To celebrate our new language programme, they are launching a competition where you can win a free course. The competition is open until 10 May 2023.
